Vom 03.-04. November fand im Rahmen unseres ERASMUS+ Projektes “
ACTIVE-ATS – ADVANCED COMPETENCIES OF TEACHERS TO IMPROVE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN APPLIED TECHNOLOGY SCHOOLS” unser Abschlußmeeting im Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoET) in New Cairo statt.
In dieser neuen ERASMUS+ Projekt Generation unter Koordination der Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) Finland hatten wir erstmalig die Chance mit Ländern außerhalb der EU zusammen zuarbeiten. Das war eine sehr große bildungspolitische und kulturelle Herausforderung.
Im Fokus unserer Arbeit standen die Verbesserung der Kooperationbeziehungen von Schule und Wirtschaft. Bei diesem Thema hatten wir dann doch große Gemeinsamkeiten und konnten sehr viel gegenseitigen Wissenstransfer implementieren.
Neben dem Ministry of Education and Technical Education und der HELWAN University Kairo waren 5 Berufsbildungszentren (ATS) mit knapp 55 Lehrern*Innen aus Kairo aktiv in unser Projekt involviert.
Zu den Meilensteinen der gemeinsamen Arbeit gehörten:
Insbesondere die betrieblichen Lehrerpraktika waren das Highlight bei allen Beteiligten. Erstmals hatten auch sogenannte „General Subject“ Lehrer die z.B. Mathematik, Fremdsprachen e.t.c. an den technischen ATS Berufsschulen unterrichten, die Möglichkeit an einen realen Arbeitsplatz zu gehen und für kurze Zeit in die betriebliche Realität einzutauchen.
Während des Abschlußmeetings wurde von allen beteiligten Partnern und insbesondere durch das MoET die Absicht erklärt, dieses Form qualitätsgesicherten WBL in den ATS Schulen nachhaltig zu verstetigen.
Das Projekt wurde somit zu einem sehr erfolgreichen Abschluß geführt.
ACTIVE-ATS project is focusing on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Egypt. There has been a significant amount of development in TVET in Egypt already at the system level, and at the same time, there is an urgent need to develop the teachers’ knowledge and understanding of student-centered and also competence-based lifelong learning.
TVET is in the national context important forum for the economy, the key actor for the development of the company’s learning possibilities and practices, and also for the employment and professional growth of young people in Egypt. The continuous and rapid changes in the world of work are typical features in all ACTIVE-ATS project partner countries: Egypt, Finland and Germany.

The project is strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) teachers’ and trainers’ capacity to work in competence based TVET in Egypt. The development work is implemented in a cooperation with the world of work and with the private sector partners of the Applied Technology Schools (ATS).
In the project five schools out of 27 ATS in Egypt are associate partners. From these schools 50 teachers and trainers will participate in the pedagogical enhancement programme during the project and they will have also the on-the job -learning period in the private sector company.
